I’m Back (Well Sort Of)

Amazingly the first thing I did upon coming back from Redang is to get a 12 hour sleep. This is then followed up by some food consumption and even more sleeping. Instead of feeling refreshed I feel absolutely hammered today. The neck and back are especially troubling me. All my joints ache and I still have a 9am class to attend to. Since I only came back from Kepong this morning that means I have to drive from Kepong to Cyber and straight into class. All the while supporting my neck with a thick wad of “kain lap” strategically wedged between my head and shoulder.This sucks because the trip was fantastic. The best lads day out since Bukit Merah in 2004.

It not the trip that messed up my body. It’s actually the trip back from Kuala Terengganu to KL that did the damage. Never in a million years would I think I would see a massive traffic jam in Kuala Terengganu. This happened between KT and Marang. This is due to the construction of a quadruple carriage way there. If that is not bad enough I have to take the back seat on the way back. That means mangled legs (leg room is close to non existent!) and constant head banging on the Vios wonderfully low backseat headroom! Stupendous. So I said to myself

“Ah what if I bend my neck this way as I sleep, that might reduce the head butt”

Well that worked until we reached Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT). LPT must have been designed to accommodate the people in the eastern states. Primarily the ex-fishermen since driving on it felt like sailing in a sampan during rough monsoon weather. The car bobbed up and down every 5 seconds or so. I’ve driven on some pretty shitty road here in Putrajaya (the one between the Bomba and LDP is absolutely shitatistic).LPT will be the worst ever highway that I’ve been on in my entire life. Mind you I use to take the old trunk road to travel between Kedah-KL and Kuantan-KL and those two old school roads are better than this newly minted highway. I mean who the fuck designed LPT. I reckon the civil engineer designed the road in such a way so that people won’t dare drive to Kuantan, Terengganu and Kelantan. It’s all a BN conspiracy to destroy the east coast! HAHAHA.. yeah. This is just another one of those insane tin hat conspiracy theory! Ignore the rant will ya. In all seriousness the road is dangerous to drive on at speed more than 90 KPH.

So anyway by the time I reached KL my kneecaps, calves, back and neck felt like crap. I tried to sleep it off with the aid of some Panadol. No joy as the neck is still stiff. I am now down with a slight fever. But that didn’t stop me from watching Iron Man. It was ok I guess. I never read the comic because Tony Stark is such a bore compared to Bruce Wayne or Logan. It’s too cookie cutter and Gwyneth is so-so only. Considering that she is an Oscar winner and all I think she is sadly under utilised (but I love the fake redhead freckles. Sorta like Gwyneth pretending to be Lohan but with talent). Robert Downey JR was fab as Stark if I may so myself. Terrence Howard played it safe. Ah we just have to wait for Iron Man 2 before we can see him in a War Machine suit.

“Next time bay beh…………”

Too right Mr Howard. That day will come and I won’t be surprised if the studio suddenly decides to produce a trilogy out of this new franchise.

Okie dokie. I think I’m heading back to bed now. I have a few books that can lull me to sleep within 7 pages ( Berlin 1944-1945 – The City Under Siege is a VERY “EXCITING” read). I was hoping I could paste a few snaps from the trip here but I left the camera cable at home! What a noob. So you guys just have to wait before you can see me in my bathing suit! (Or my beer belly and triple chin for that matter) HA HA HA…
